Texans know that the oil and natural gas industry anchors our economy and directly funds our roads, schools, emergency services and our state’s Rainy Day Fund. The industry also leads the way in environmental progress, investing billions and implementing real solutions to protect and improve the environment.
But anti-oil and natural gas activists and special interest groups have convinced some politicians to end the Texas oil and natural gas industry. Radical proposals to ban fracking or implement a Green New Deal would destroy the Texas oil and natural gas industry, eliminate over 400,000 Texas jobs, set back climate progress, reduce funding for our state and local governments by billions, and endanger our economic and energy security.
A fracking ban would put 3.2 million Texans out of a job, decrease household income by thousands, and increase cost of living for the average Texan by over $7,000. The Green New Deal would cost American families and businesses $93 trillion.
By voting and making your voice heard, you can support positive oil and gas policies. Your participation can ensure affordable energy and gasoline, good-paying jobs, billions of dollars in funding for education and roads, and American energy independence continue in Texas.
